CHATEAU HAUT BATAILLEY
Château Haut-Batailley is an offshoot of the neighbouring Château Batailley. Owned since the 1920’s by the Borie family, the Fifth Growth Haut-Batailley belonged to the Saint-Martins in the 18th Century and the Guestiers in the 19th Century.
It is currently managed by François-Xavier Borie and his daughter Emiline, who work their 22-hectare vineyard with a mix of 70% Cabernet Sauvignon, 25% Merlot and 5% Cabernet Franc.
The estate has no château building, and the wines are vinified at Château Ducru-Beaucaillou, which is managed by another branch of the Borie family. Fresh and fruity on the palate, with age the wine becomes smooth and supple.
